Rasa News Agency Reports – In an interview with Rasa’s international correspondent, one of the Sunni scholars and the chairman of the “We say and act” society, Sheikh Ahmad Qatan indicated: “Ayatollah Khamenei succeeded in continuing the guidelines of the late Imam Khomeini.”
“Ayatollah Khamenei’s extraordinary characteristics made the Muslim nations see him as an authoritative and popular leader and consider him as the commander of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the successor of Imam Khomeini.” He added.
He also said: “We demand all the Muslim and Arab nations specially Sunnis to pay attention to the words and demands of Ayatollah Khamenei regardless of religious affiliations and declare their readiness in confrontingthe US and Zionist regime. It’s necessary today that the issue of Palestine be included in the demands of the Muslim countries as the main issue of the Muslim World regardless of religious affiliations.”
The Sunni scholar considered the continuous call of Ayatollah Khamenei for unity of Muslims in dealing with the enemies as one of the most important policies of the Supreme Leader.
He also mentioned the affective role of Imam Khomeini in launching an Islamic Society and said: Iran’s Islamic Revolution came from within the downtrodden and oppressed people of the country and could put an end to the domination of US and the arrogant countries on Iran.”
He pointed out that Imam Khomeini’s actions were in line with the lifestyle of the grand prophet of God and said: “With the demise of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, the Muslim World and the noble individuals around the world lost a very great character. Imam Khomeini never discriminated Shia and Sunni and had an equal point of view toward all the Muslims.”
Mentioning the establishment of “Lebanese Muslim Scholars” society and its pro-unification effects Sheikh Ahmad Qatan said: “The Islamic Awakening movements have taken various examples of Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution.”
Sheikh Ahmad Qatan insisted that the religious and tribal affiliation will only weaken the Islamic nation and fragment it. He also asked for the help of all the Muslims to the resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon to confront the Zionist regime and liberate the occupied Palestine.
The Sunni scholar also criticized some of the religious figures for fueling the religious disputes and called them the ‘scholars of the regime’ that only think about the political and economic interests of the ‘dictators’.
At the end, he mentioned the increasing advances of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: “The Islamic [Republic of] Iran has been able to gain advancement through confronting the arrogant powers and we the Sunni Muslims of Lebanon honor this Islamic country that is the enemy of the Zionist regime and US.”
