Wedding anniversary of Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah al-Zahra

RNA – The marriage of Imam Ali and Lady Fatimah al-Zahra occurred on Dhu al-Hijjah 1, 2 ‎AH/May 25, 624 CE. The marriage formula was recited by the Prophet Muhammad. ‎According to scholars, there was an interval of ten months between the marriage formula of ‎their marriage and their wedlock. According to sources of narrations, before Imam Ali, a ‎number of Migrants (Muhajirun) and Confederates (Ansar) expressed their tendency to marry ‎Fatimah to the Prophet, but he refused their proposals.‎

According to one report, Lady Fatimah dower was five hundred dirhams. The Prophet called ‎this marriage heavenly and that God engaged Lady Fatimah to Imam Ali.‎
