Supreme Leader of Iran:
Rasa – The Supreme Leader said: “Destroying the greenery around the cities and especially the tropical forest will cause great problems for humanity in the future.”
Rasa News Agency Reports – In the week for Nature and on the national tree day his eminence Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei today (Tuesday) afternoon planted two seeds.
The Supreme leader after planting the two seeds spoke about trees and plants which for any country in the world is a sign of blessing and development and mentioned the Islamic view point in planting and taking care of plants and becoming a barrier in stopping those cutting trees down illegally and said: “The complain which exist against those responsible for the natural habitat is that from time to time hundreds of trees are getting cut off in places which should not be getting cut off.”
Ayatollah Khamenei mentioned: “On top of confiscating lands around the city and its developments and destroying its greenery by changing the land into metal and buildings by some people who just seek profit, the natural tropical forest are being threatened now.”
The leader of the Islamic revolution in emphasizing the necessity in forming a group to halt all the trees which are getting cut down wrongfully stated: “Destroying the greenery around the cities and especially the tropical forest will cause great problems for humanity in the future, thus all relevant authorities in the government, parliament, judiciary system and the local council must act seriously to halt this wrong action.”
In this event the minister for Agriculture, the president of the environmental protection agency as well as Tehran mayor and governor were present.
