Rasa News Agency reports - Today, Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli met with members of a peace caravan who will embark on a pilgrimage to Syria. He praised the peaceful intentions of the members of the caravan and asked God to lead the world to justice and reason and that the powerful leaders of the world do not choose the path of vanity of those who have gone astray [from the right path].
He spoke of the necessity of international peace, wisdom and justice. “Mankind are worldly creatures who will never become non-existent. Those who have never thought about death in war think mankind is destroyed forever by death; however death is only the middle stage and that a permanent world awaits mankind in the hereafter,” Ayatollah Javad-Amoli explained.
“If there was nothing after death, and death was the absolute end, human beings would not believe that they would be held accountable for their worldly actions, and would continuously commit gruesome crimes against others,” he stated.
Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli said that external superpowers are imposing unwanted wars upon people and they imposed two world wars upon mankind which killed 70 million innocent people throughout the world in less than 50 years.
“The human rights and freedom of speech which are propagated by the Western powers brings to our minds murder, killing, looting and other crimes that they have committed. Having a pure soul prevents man from shedding the blood of others and making war. If man knew that he will be held accountable for his deeds in this world, he would not commit such crimes,” he explained.
Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli explained the philosophy behind God sending prophets to us as so that we understand that man can be victorious in the face of death and that death does not destroy man, as is commonly thought.
“Selfishness is the enemy of mankind and this trait must be suppressed until justice and reason prevails. Wherever man is in the world, he should be a harbinger of peace and not be unjust and should avoid committing crimes against humanity,” he added.
The message of all of the divine prophets is that of justice and reason. “Islam speaks of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus as examples of the complete implementation of this divine message in society,” Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli explained.
Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli blessed and gave his good wishes to the pilgrims at the end of his sermon: “We hope that you will carry the divine message of the prophets on your journey and we pray that God will save the Middle East from the meddling superpowers and that they take lessons from the effects of World Wars I and II and do not interfere in other countries’ affairs.”
