Rasa - The auspicious life of Ayatollah Hoseyn Shabzendehdar was held in Qom in the presence of many scholars and sources of emulation. Ayatollah Khamenei has issued a message of condolences.

Rasa News Agency reports – A commemoration of the life of Ayatollah Hoseyn Shabzendehdar-Jahromi, a great professor in the Islamic Seminary of Qom, was held on the seventh day after his passing in Masjid al-A’dham (The Grand Mosque) in the Holy City of Qom on the evening of July 30. It was attended by a number of sources of emulations, scholars, members of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom and members of the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership.

 

Ayatollah Shabzendehdar was born in 1928 in the city of Jahrom in Iran’s southern Fars province. He was a teacher in the Holy Seminary of Qom for over 40 years. He was hospitalized in Qom’s Shahid Beheshti Hospital and was later transferred to Tehran’s Masih Daneshvari Hospital where he passed away on July 26, 2014. He was buried in the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’soumah (S) in Qom alongside many other great scholars. His funeral prayers were led by Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi.

 

Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has issued a statement of condolences:

I offer my condolences on the passing of the devout and pious jurisprudent, the late Ayatollah Hajj Shaykh Hoseyn Shabzendehdar, may God bless his soul, to the grand scholars and sources of emulation of the Islamic Seminary of Qom and to his surviving family members, especially to his virtuous son, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Hajj Shaykh Mahdi Shabzendehdar, a dear member of the Guardian Council. I pray that the Almighty God raises the rank of His Eminence.
