Rasa News Agency reports - Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Ali Alavi-Gorgani has met with Izuharu Watanabe, a Japanese grand karate master. His Eminence stated that every human seeks a life of happiness and prosperity and seeks religion to reach this aim.
His Eminence pointed to the various religions of the world, and explained that human beings need to research so they can find a religion which can fulfill his needs and desires in this world and in the hereafter. When man finds this path, he should follow it.
Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani stressed the truth of Islam and of the Shi’ah school of thought to Mr Watanabe: “Today, many scholars around the world have concluded that the religion of Islam and the Shi’ah school is the most perfect of all the world’s religions and schools of thought.”
His Eminence explained that in the Holy Quran, God has explained that the concept of “wilayah” [guardianship] completes Islam and added that wilayah is the focal point and a central tenet of of Shi’ism. The survival of Shi’ism is the survival of wilayah. In Shi’ite theology, “wilayah” is the authority invested in the Prophet Muhammad and his infallible family, the Ahlul-Bayt, as representatives of God on earth.
Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani further explained that the leader of a religion can be compared to the believers like a father who is the head of his family. His responsibilities include managing and guiding the people under his control towards perfection and righteousness.
He stated that the system in the Islamic Republic of Iran is distinguished by the role of the Supreme Leader. The Prophet Muhammad and the Imams are the supervisors and guides of the believers and Muslims of the world, and the Supreme Leader fulfills this role in their absence.
Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani said that the Japanese people are understanding and capable people and said that he hopes that they pay attention to the religion of Islam as it can guide them to a happy life.
He emphasized the fact that Iran is under the control of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei. “The Supreme Leader is the supreme authority and as the leader of the Islamic society, he is responsiblity for the entire community. All those who have accepted him as the Supreme Leader are under his banner,” he added.
