Rasa News Agency reports - Today, Ayatollah Hosayn Nouri-Hamadani met with the president and the administrators of the Centre for Services of Islamic Seminaries in the Holy City of Qom. He praised the actions of the centre, saying: “In addition to the general services, you must give special attention to the seminarians and clerics who write books and essays.”

He pointed out that the centre should help to ease some of the economic problems many seminarians face. Before the establishment of the Centre for Services of Islamic Seminaries, seminarians and clerics did not have retirement insurance or old age benefits or welfare, as many others did.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani thanked those involved in establishing these essential services for seminarians, saying: “This centre was established by the endeavour and encouragement of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] and the pure intentions of its administrators. This centre carries out very important work for Islam.”

In the past, some scholars such as Sayyed Razi, were concerned by the living conditions of the seminarians. Sayyed Razi always tried to help seminarians with their needs at all times, but unlike now, there was no such official support for the seminarians and the clergy.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani pointed to some of the services that are provided by the centre, saying: “The services offered by the Centre for Services of Islamic Seminaries include efforts such as: providing housing assistance, offering medical insurance, and providing tickets to purchase groceries to seminarians. This aid is a very important and valuable step towards improving the livelihoods of seminarians. The services offered shows sincerity, devotion and efforts of the managers toward the clergy.”
