Rasa News Agency reports - Ayatollah Hosein Nouri-Hamadani has met with the Central Organization for I’tikaf. He said that in Shi’ite teachings there is great potential for the growth and perfection of mankind, given the turmoil which has swept the world in recent years. “The world today is in need of knowing the Ahlul-Bayt (A),” the source of emulation said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that Ziyarat Jam’iat al-Kabirah and Ziyarat al-Ghadir are two important, authentic, and the valuable supplications
that were narrated by Imam Ali al-Hadi (A). We can recite them to know God and his Ahlul-Bayt (A). We must learn the divine commandments and laws through the Ahlul-Bayt (A) as they are the channels of God’s grace. Love of the Ahlul-Bayt (A) is an undeniably important and divine commandment of Islam. With the power that God has given them, they can perform miracles in the world which are divine signs of the guardianship of the Ahlul-Bayt (A). This is explained in the supplications which were taught by the Ahlul-Bayt (A).
He warned about the dangerous activities of the Wahhabis and Takfiris throughout the Islamic world. “Takfiris follow the politics of imperialism,
Zionism and Saudi Arabia and by the support of these countries funding them, they are growing. They are following their own interests and they are an obstacle to humanity reaching perfection,” he emphasized.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that status of the Ahlul-Bayt (A) is also very important for many Sunnis. He explained that in Egypt, there is a mosque named “Imam Husayn (A) Mosque” and on some of the days of mourning, they hold ceremonies there but now with Wahhabi dominance in that area, it is very difficult to celebrate Eid al-Ghadir and hold public mourning ceremonies for the martyrdom anniversaries of the Imams (A) because of their threats.”
He explained that i’tikaf is a great opportunity for self-building and reaching perfection as it encourages the growth of their faith, beliefs, intellect,
and worship. I’tikaf is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of retreat in a mosque for a certain number of days in accordance with the believer’s own wish. It is most common during the month of Ramadhan, especially the last ten days.
He also explained that the human power of reason is able to distinguish right from wrong. He said that in the world there are many organizations working for academic growth but it is important to foster and nurture the power of reason, and thus these types of organizations should be established as well. It is important to remove the dust of sedition so that this branch of science can advance.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that in the Quranic verse, “... if you are careful of (your duty to) God...” [8:29], God says that observing piety, gaining knowledge, and enjoining the good is three of the most important methods to achieve a strong and complete sense of reason.
