Rasa News Agency reports - Today, in the holy city of Qom, the first-ever conference entitled “An Endeavour of the Pen,” was held at the Hajj and Ziyarat Conference Hall, in the blessed presence of Ayatollahs Ja’far Sobhani, Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani, Abdollah Javadi-Amoli, and Mohammad Mohammadi-Rayshahri, as well as other well-known scholars.

This conference, which was sponsored by the Hajj and Ziyarat Organization of the Province of Qom, aimed to promote authors and researchers in the fields of hajj and ziyarat (pilgrimage). The efforts of these scholars were made possible by the help of the sources of emulation present at the conference.

Sa’id Ohadi, the chairman of the Hajj and Ziyarat Organization, stated that the hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah has a major effect on the lives of people as over two million pilgrims travel to the “land of revelation” annually.

Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mahdi Alizadeh-Mousavi stated that since the Islamic Revolution over 2,700 books and scholarly articles have been published about hajj and ziyarat, both by organizations and individual scholars. These books are articles include research about the ethics, philosophy, beliefs, history of hajj and pilgrimage, as well as personal biographies of those who have made the journey to hajj or pilgrimage.

After the Islamic Revolution, there has been much more research produced on the various aspects of hajj and pilgrimage compared to before. This has been possible only because of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
