Rasa News Agency reports - Today, Dr Ali Larijani, the chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran (Majles), met with Ayatollah Abdol-Karim Mousavi-Ardabili at his office.

Dr Larijani, the representative of the constituency of Qom in the Majles, explained that Iran’s progress on its nuclear negotiations with the P5 +1 group of countries is remarkable. “The negotiating team must strive to devise a comprehensive plan to protect [Iran’s] nuclear rights.”

Referring to the country’s economic problems, Dr Larijani added: “The main problem which we face is the stagnation of the economy, and thus it is very important that the country solves its economic problems [in order to progress].”

“The Majles is also pursuing this issue, and the respective ministers for economic and political issues have had positive and logical relations with the Majles. Nevertheless, there are various opinions within the Majles on the issue,” Dr. Larijani added.

Dr. Larijani pointed to the status of suspended banks and said: “Necessary measures should be taken against suspended banks, factories and manufacturers. We must take appropriate action to control the economy in order to bring the country out of recession and to bring about prosperity for our manufacturers.”

In regard to the social and regional issues in Iran, Dr. Larijani said: “Today, in our rural areas, people are unable to earn a decent livelihood. We need to have a strategy to help these [deprived] people.”

In this meeting, Ayatollah Mousavi-Ardabili also explained his ideas to resolve the important issues discussed.
