Rasa News Agency reports - On Friday night, a washing ceremony of the burial chamber of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’soumah (SA) has been held in the Holy City of Qom. This special event marked the auspicious birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra, the beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (S).

This special ceremony took place in the presence of Ayatollah Hosein Nouri-Hamadani, a leading source of emulation, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpaygani, the president of the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Imam Khamenei), Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi, the trustee of the Holy Shrine, and some of the servants of the Holy Shrine.

This occasion is important because according to Islamic traditions, pilgrimage to the shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’soumah (A) is equivalent to a pilgrimage to the shrine of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra (A) in Jannat al-Baqi’ cemetery in Madinah, which was made desolate by Wahhabi demolitions in 1925 CE. The exact location of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra’s (A) grave is unknown due to the will of God that it should remain hidden. All the honour and grandeur that has accorded to the grave of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra (A) is now given to the grave of Lady Fatima Ma’soumah (A).

At the end of the spiritual washing ceremony, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani signed the shrine’s guestbook and wrote a short message about the high status of Lady Fatimah az-Zahra (A). He said that the Holy City of Qom owes its special position the lady known as “Karimat Ahlul-Bayt (A),” the Noble One of the Infallible Family of the Prophet Muhammad (S). His Eminence concluded by praising the hard work of the administration and servants of the Holy Shrine.
