Ayatollah Safi-Golpaygani encourages fulfillment of cultural work to be in accordance to Islamic law
Rasa News Agency reports - Hujjat al-Islam Izadpanah, the director of the Department of Culture and Guidance of the Province of Qom met with Grand Ayatollah Safi-Golpaygani. Ayatollah Safi gave him several recommendations about the important duties about improving the departments' works.
Ayatollah Safi mentioned several important cultural issues which underlie the guidance of society to Hujjat al-Islam Izadpanah: "In Islam, there is no issue more important than the issue of guiding mankind and society and protecting the religion of mankind and society. The duties that are assigned to you are very important and can only be accomplished efficiently with the help of God, Imam al-Mahdi (AJ) and your hard work and efforts."
"You must protect the title that has been bestowed upon you. Culture and guidance are good but which culture and [form of] guidance?" You must execute your duties in strict accordance to Islam law and must not allow anything to occur which is in contradiction to Islamic law. If you perform your duties correctly, it will certainly solve all problems," Ayatollah Safi recommended.
Noting the need for adherence and commitment to cultural practitioners, Ayatollah Safi addressed the audience at the meeting by saying "the people who are in charge of cultural affairs, are bound to enforce all laws of the sacred religion completely, until the guiding goals and enjoining the good and forbidding the evil are realized."
Ayatollah Safi criticized the unlawful implementation of certain programs in the community: "You must promote Islamic arts in your program. Unfortunately, some programs that celebrate the art are done contrary to the commandments of God and should be abolished. The Department of Culture and Guidance must promote the types of Islamic arts which promote sacred Islamic rituals."
He prayed for the success of their endeavours: "God willing, you and your colleagues will be able to advance this great cause with hard work and endurance in the other provinces in order to satisfy Imam al-Mahdi (AJ). If your goal is not for this cause, your work has no value."
