Rasa News Agency reports - In a meeting with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Ayatollah Hosein Nouri-Hamadani responded to the American governments’ denial of a visa for the proposed Iranian representative to the United Nations in New York.
“If the enemy sees that we have softened our positions, they will proceed [in their soft war against us]. Because this has occurred, the enemies have gained more power recently.”
He referred to the verse of the Holy Quran, “...let them find in you hardness...” (9:123) and said: “the Quran says that we must hold strong against our enemies until we become victorious, but if you show any signs of weakness, they will be able to proceed because excess and bullying are part of their essence.”
Referring to Hamid Abutalebi, the proposed Iranian representative to the UN, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said: “they say that because he was present at the ‘Den of Spies,’ when the American hostages were taken, they will not give him a visa. But they do not say that these Americans WERE spies! We stand against tyranny and oppression, but wasn’t the ‘Den of Spies’ the centre of the creation oppression and tyranny?!”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also referred to the recent incident where someone threw a shoe at Hillary Clinton, and also remembered that a few years ago, a shoe was also thrown at then-President George W. Bush in Iraq. “These incidents suggest how unpopular the government of the United States is among the world’s nations!” he stated.
In verse 54 of the Chapter of Rum (Rome) in the Holy Quran, God has said that human life is divided into three parts: childhood and old age which are periods of weakness; and youth, which is a time of growth, flourishing, and increased capabilities, and the greatest period of the life of a human. Islam places much importance on the value of youth as it is a time for the self-building of one’s character. He emphasized the necessity of the youth to recognize and be steadfast against the enemies’ plots.
“Self-building is a command of God which is obligatory upon us. If one does not build himself, then we cannot build a just society,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadan stated. Learning how to differentiate between right and wrong is an important principal of self-building.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani state “in the Quran, God has mentioned that there are six ways to know the God: the organization and order of all that is created, the purpose of creation, proportionality of creatures with each other, movement, creation, and life.”
