Rasa News Agency reports - “The enemy has been defeated both in its assassination plots and in symmetrical and asymmetrical warfare and has failed to reach its objectives,” said Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Ataollah Salehi in Tehran on Thursday.
“The West has had no achievement either in the political arena or the non-political arena” against the Islamic Republic, he added.
Salehi also underlined Iran’s military capabilities, stating that Iranian Armed Forces maintain full preparedness so that “if we face a threat, we respond to it strongly and firmly.”
The Iranian military commander said the Army has gained many achievements, which will be showcased in a march scheduled for April 18, when the Islamic Republic marks the National Army Day.
The occasion marks the establishment of the Islamic Republic’s Army.
In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in building important military equipment and systems.
The Islamic Republic has stressed that deterrence lies at the heart of its defense doctrine, and that its military might poses no threat whatsoever to other countries.
