Rasa News Agency reports - Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi began his jurisprudence class in the holy city of Qom’s Masjed-e Azam by calling for a reduction in the number of days off in the Islamic seminaries. This was the first day of classes after the Iranian New Year “Norouz” holidays.
“We hope that year by year that the number of days off do not increase, but rather decrease!” he stressed.
He recommended that seminarians take their vacation time seriously and to use every opportunity to strengthen the foundations of their knowledge by studying.
The Islamic seminaries must not increase the number of days off during the holidays and must emphasize on decreasing them due to the long summer holidays.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi reminded the students that studying the jurisprudence of the Holy Family (A) of the Prophet Muhammad (S) is an important and valuable grace that has been granted to the seminarians by God and thus, they should not waste their time by taking time off from class.
“We have stated numerous times that the unnecessary holidays which harm the seminarians’ studies must be decreased. Seminarians must make use of their youth and seek to improve upon the quality of their studies.” Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stated.
