Rasa - The German Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran visited and spoke with Grand Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi in the holy city of Qom.

Rasa News Agency reports - Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg, the German Ambassador to Tehran, met with Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi this morning in the holy city of Qom. He is one of the greatest sources of emulation among Shi’a Muslims.

 

During the meeting, Grand Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi expressed his views about the most important global issues and regional developments. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear program is entirely peaceful and transparent and also emphasized that the production and use of weapons of mass destruction is considered “haram” or prohibited by Islamic law.

 

The German Ambassador considered his meeting with Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi a valuable opportunity for himself.

 

Also at the meeting, the issue of Iran’s nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 group of nations were also reviewed and commented on by each side.
