Rasa - Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center has warned against distorted versions of the Quran’s verses going online.

Rasa News Agency Reports - The Islamic center said in some internet websites contain verses from the Quran that have been distorted in different ways.

 

For example, the word Al-Haq has been added to verse 7 of Surah Al-e Imran, whereas there is no such word in this verse, it said.

 

Sheikh Tofiq Abdel Aziz, director of Al-Azhar center’s Islamic Studies Office asked all internet users to refer to credible websites like those belonging to Al-Azhar, Egypt’s Dar-ul-Ifta and the country’s Awqaf Ministry to read the Quran online.

 

He also urged companies that present online Quran copies to have utmost care when they put online Quran copies or Hadiths from the Holy prophet (PBUH).

 

Users of social networks like Facebook have noted that there are distorted copies of the Quran online.
