Rasa News Agency Reports - Hujjat al-Islam Jafar Elmi spoke at a ceremony held marking the beginning of the school year in the auditorium of al-Mustafa (S) International University. He hopes that this year, the seminarians will be the witnesses of the development and advancement of al-Mustafa (S) and their academic efforts will have a good outcome.
The assistant director explained that the seminary of Qom is the axis of the Shi’ah world and one of the foundations of the Islamic world.
“Nobody has any doubt in this matter that the seminary of Qom is in the first place in introducing Islamic thoughts in the world or at most there are only one or two equivalents in other countries.” he said.
He continued by stating that the publishing dozens of magazines, training hundreds of scholars, publishing hundreds of books in various languages is considered one of the achievements of the academic efforts of al-Mustafa (S) International University and said: “with the efforts and endeavours accomplished, al-Mustafa (S) International University has an unparalleled effect at the world level.”
“The historical mission of al-Mustafa (S) International University in training educated and capable students shows the unique effect al-Mustafa (S) has had in the spread of the knowledge of the Ahlul-Bayt (A).” said Hujjat al-Islam Elmi.
He also reiterated that: “in some countries, the graduates of al-Mustafa (S) have a heavy responsibility upon them to spread the pure teachings of the Ahlul-Bayt (A).”
He stated that “60 to 80 percent of the active international missionaries in the seminary are graduates of al-Mustafa (S) in Qom and with graduates who are the representatives of the seminaries in their own countries. The academic activities of al-Mustafa (S) expand every day and we thank God in this regard.”
Hujjat al-Islam Elmi stressed upon the necessity to raise the educational standards of al-Mustafa (S) and added: “the reason for raising the educational standards of al-Mustafa (S) is because of our efforts and the graduates of al-Mustafa (S) should be a person who has academic authority in the courses that they have studied and their achievements should be trustworthy.”
He explained that al-Mustafa (S) International University is on the threshold of one unique leap and if it occurs its effect will remain for another 45 years. He mentioned the writing of 332 doctoral dissertations and 1504 level four dissertations in this seminary and called for increased academic efforts of the teachers, researchers and students in this field.
Hujjat al-Islam Elmi mentioned the necessity of reviewing that the educational degrees of al-Mustafa (S) are acceptable with the needs of the international community.
“Now with the case the Islamic Awakening in the seminary it is essential and it can be counted as the most fundamental method by presenting role models and opinions.” He expressed.
He states that 25 education centres are affiliated with al-Mustafa (S) and there are 15,000 seminarians and scholars who are studying in 127 fields.
He also added: “this year 1700 people will be added to the al-Mustafa (S) family which 900 people are from inside and 800 people in the branches of al-Mustafa (S) are currently studying directly.”
