RNA – Speaking on Monday, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ali Fadhlullah, the Friday prayer leader of Beirut, referred to several challenges in front of the Arab and Islamic worlds calling terrorism and religious pluralism as the most important of them.
He said, “Political and economic issues are reasons for outbreak of extremism and the present problems facing our world are not due to religions, rather they are due to the issues regarding discourses and ideologies.
The Lebanese cleric stressed, “Religious reasons used by Takfiri and terrorist groups to justify their killings have to be explained to all and we should refer to Quran and lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad for a just view.”
Hujjat al-Islam Fadhlullah stressed Islamic unity as a religious priority and stressed, “Unity is the standard for the promotion of religion and the safeguarding religious beliefs.”
His Eminence added, “Political and religious disagreements should be divided and religious feelings should not be misused in line with political ends.”
