RNA – Speaking to Seminary's News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Ghavami said the world is currently facing a very sensitive period in history with the eminent defeat of ISIL Takfiri terrorists who are affiliated with the West and the Persian Gulf states. “We have seen the victories of the brave men and soldiers of Islam in different parts of the region, including Pakistan, Iraq and Syria,” the cleric stated.
His Eminence said the world is witnessing something new in the international arena and Western power is weakening in regard to their foreign relations in Pakistan and Iraq. “All these factors, have forced the enemies to think of new methods and find the best options in relation to Iran,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Ghavami explained that the new discourse in the West seeks two approaches – either reconciliation or the establishment of a relationship so they can gain full control over Iran. “They consider Iran’s lack of acceptance of their pressure or to capitulate to their sanctions as a hostile action,” he said.
He noted US President Barack Obama’s recent visa to Cuba, saying that this action is an example of how the US seeks to deceive the people of Iran. Obama extended the hand of friendship to Cuban President Raúl Castro, demonstrating that the US is willing to establish a relationship of friendship and reconciliation with all its opponents and with all kinds of revolutions.
“Although the US sought to discredit the Cuban president, this move will show that the US has no problem with any country," he said.
The Iranian scholar stated that the enemies have several aims in regard to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action’s (JCPOA), adding that the enemies seek to empty and hollow the Islamic Revolution of its values, undermine the ideals of Imam Khomeini and break the red lines of religion, the revolution and the Islamic system of government and thus, discourage the people and turn the Iranian nation against the Revolution and the system.
