Rasa – “The uproar that enemies have made about Iran’s recent missile tests arises from their concern about the Islamic Republic’s scientific advances,” Ayatollah Emami-Kashani said.

RNA – The enemies are bickering over Iran’s test of advanced missiles, because they feel concern about the country’s progress in science, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani said in a speech to people attending Friday prayers in Tehran.

The cleric underlined that Iran will press ahead with the scientific progress to ensure security for its people.

“They (enemies) don’t dare to take practical action (against Iran), because the country has made scientific advances,” Ayatollah Emami-Kashani added.

The cleric then described the test of missiles as sign of Iran’s commitment to guaranteeing its security, stressing that the tests have nothing to do with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear deal between Tehran and the P5+1 group of countries (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

“The West themselves have even admitted that the missile tests and the JCPOA are unrelated,” the cleric noted.

Back on Tuesday, US State Department Spokesman John Kirby said Iran’s recent missile tests are not a “violation” of the JCPOA.

It came after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) test-fired a number of advance, ballistic missiles during a nationwide missile exercise.

IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad-Ali Ja’fari had already described the message of the missile drill as security for Iran and the neighboring countries.
