RNA – Speaking at Qom’s al-Mustafa International University’s Imam Khomeini Madrassah, Hujjat al-Islam Mohsen Qomi referred to the two letters that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, wrote to the youth of Europe and North America and stated that “we should first see what duties young people in the West have from the two letters written by the Supreme Leader.”

The Deputy Director of the International Office of the Supreme Leader added: “The twentieth century was called the century of science and technology and during this century, mankind made stunning advances in various fields. If we put all of the scientific advances of the twentieth century on one side of a scale and the developments of the nineteenth century on the other side, the developments of the twentieth century will definitely be heavier.”

He said that in the twentieth century we witnessed many catastrophes and events, including the dropping of atom bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes. “We cannot say that such people sought progress and war and this is while those same people who created these disasters also considered these events as scientific advances,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam Qomi stated that Ayatollah Khamenei acted out of a sense of responsibility by writing the two letters to the youth of Europe and North America, saying: “Today, a very tense atmosphere has been created against Islam and Muslims in the world and European youth have come under the domination of by Western and foreign media and the two letters were written to enlighten the youth and those who seek liberty.”

His Eminence continued: “We must disseminate these two letters and their messages to Western youth and create motivation in them to follow up on their [messages].”

Hujjat al-Islam Qomi said that we should focus on the issues and messages of the two letters, explaining that one of the important messages that these two letters have stated is that we must oppose Western governments and enemies but also find a way to have dialogue with the elites of Western countries.

Stating that Ayatollah Khamenei’s letter clearly referred to the Western-dominated media, he added that one of the features of Western civilization is lax morality and violence and also offered solutions.

The Iranian cleric said that we must strive to achieve the objectives of these letters and added that one of the appropriate means for publishing this letter and its messages can be the students of al-Mustafa International University.
