Rasa – The representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts pointed out that in the Islamic system of government and elections, there were no winners or losers, but the real winner was the Iranian nation and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution who achieved religious democracy.

RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, a member of the Assembly of Experts, referred to the Iranian people’s high 'turnout and passionate participation' in the country’s February 26th Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections, stressing that democracy in the Islamic Republic is the bright and clear truth.

 

His Eminence that the elections and the change were true signs of democracy in Iran and described the elections as a manifestation of the popularity of the Islamic system on the world stage.

 

He said that the vitality and emotions, as well as the high turnout in the elections are signs of the influence of the people’s vote. “If voting had no effect, the hostile media would not have attempted to change the will of the people,” he said.

 

The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that an election is based on the vote of the majority and is representative of all people, thus victory does not mean the neglect of the minority, but rather that all parties have rights and obligations.

Ayatollah Ka’bi said the people voted for guardianship, unity and solidarity and called for a move toward progress and justice, adding that a wrong interpretation of the popular vote is considered as a confiscation of the people’s vote for personal and partisan interests.
