RNA – Addressing a group of professors and academicians, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani said that the Islamic Republic Iran is strong both in terms of security and defense.

He said certain statistics reveal that 180 websites belonging to terrorist groups have been blocked worldwide and the groups know well that their survival depends on deception of the youth, so they continue launching wide-scale publicity.

Elsewhere in his address, the chairman of the Expediency Council called for a high public turnout in the February 26th elections and cautioned certain factions against back-biting and bickering so as not to result in the low public turnout.

“Today, the pillars of the Islamic establishment will be consolidated further by public participation and anybody trying to reduce public participate for whatever reason has served the enemies of the Revolution,” he said.

Ayatollah Hashemi-Rafsanjani called for the people’s high turnout in this Friday’s elections and said it would be a way of supporting the government.
