RNA – Speaking in the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Ridha in Mashhad on the eve of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra, Hujjat al-Islam Kazem Seddiqi, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran, stated that the United Kingdom has its “greedy eyes” on some Iranian politicians in the February 26th Parliamentary and Assembly of Experts’ elections.

His Eminence stated that during the 2009 presidential elections in Iran, the UK tested its abilities to coordinate with some individuals within Iran to create sedition in the country. He added that during the upcoming elections, the UK again seeks to direct Iranians to whom to vote for in order to achieve its interests in the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian cleric said that the UK cannot tolerate an Islamic government in Iran that was established after centuries of oppression against Shi’a Muslims, who, inspired by Lady Fatimah al-Zahra and her sons, Muhsin and Husayn, gave their blood for the Islamic Revolution.

Hujjat al-Islam Seddiqi explained that the UK is trying to place the Assembly of Experts, a body which elects and can dismiss the Supreme Leader, under its control, and stated: “Lady Fatimah al-Zahra sacrificed herself to revive the Holy Quran and protect the character of Imam Ali and today our mission with the message of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra is to say that we also will sacrifice ourselves on her path and to resist [the enemies] until we lose our lives.”

Tehran’s temporary Friday prayer leader stressed to the people that they must go to the polls and vote with a clear vision on February 26th. “With their insight, the Iranian people can be an effective barrier to the lists of candidates which the UK, United States and Israel desire to be elected and stand against those candidates who spread propaganda in these countries’ interests,” he said.
