Making his remarks during the 18th edition of the International Festival of Shaykh Tousi entitled, “Dialogue between Islam and Contemporary World,” the revered scholar stated, “The explanation which can be offered based on Quranic views about the current society is that the world consists of two main stratums of arrogance and oppressed nations.”

“The two foresaid layers and the current situation of the world gives impetus to all analyses offered (by experts) for explaining events occurring today,” pointed out the president of Iran’s top centre for Islamic unity.

“The confrontation of the arrogant powers and oppression is in point of fact a historical conflict,” the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought said, stressing that such confrontation has shaped and formed the history so far.

“If we want to review past events and the development of confrontation and opposition in history, then we should start from this fundamental principle of human society” Ayatollah Araki said.

His Eminence went on to state, “In today's world the arrogant powers stand against the oppressed nations, plundering their wealth, wills, and forcing them to follow their commands.”

Ayatollah Araki referred to Supreme Leader’s letter to European youths noting the opposition between arrogance and oppressed nations formed the foundation of Supreme Leader’s message.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, wrote two open letters to the youth of Europe and North America following the terrorist attacks in Paris.

The Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution’s letter to the Western youth sharply criticized the West’s double standards in connection with terrorism.
