RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Alamolhoda, the Friday prayer leader of Mashhad, likened Iran’s clerical establishment to a sturdy fortress and said: “Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudence) is the fortified wall and democracy is the wide gates of this fortress. Because the enemies have no power to climb the walls of guardianship, their hope is in the gates of democracy.”
The prominent Iranian cleric added that the gates of the fortress of the Islamic system of government are open to all Iranians. “The elections are the manifestation of democracy and time of the opening of these gates,” he said referring to Iran's Parliament and Assembly of Experts elections which will be held on February 26th.
The representative in the Assembly of Experts expressed that the type and quality of the enemies’ attacks are different every time and noted that when the enemies see that their military political and economic options don’t work, they come to the conclusion that in order to enter the gates of our sturdy fortresses and conquer them, the only remaining way to deal with the Islam Revolution is to fight it from the inside.
Ayatollah Alamolhoda added: “Fortunately, because people have realized this, the enemies cannot directly enter the fortress of the system but they will hire people who can enter these gates and do their work.”
His Eminence stated that if such people enter the parliament, they will become professional spies for the enemies and will seek to bring down the columns of the Islamic system. If the columns of the system, which represent guardianship, are brought down, nothing will remain of the system. “Today, the enemies seek this,” he warned.
The Friday prayer leader of Mashhad stressed that the clergy and people have to be careful and vigilant, saying: “We must not allow people who are working for the enemies to find a way to enter the fortress through the parliament.”
Ayatollah Alamolhoda warned against electing those who are against the Islamic system and those who are dependent on foreign elements, saying that the United States and the United Kingdom attempted to use such agents and mercenaries to create sedition in the aftermath of the 2009 presidential elections.
He concluded by saying that this years’ election is not like previous elections, adding that people must be more concerned with these elections and follow up and monitor them.
