RNA – al-Alam has reported that the Saudi authorities shut down the Rasoul al-Adham Mosque in al-Ahsa, after preventing Shaykh Husayn al-Radhi from leading Friday prayers there.

The newspaper said that the move comes after Shaykh al-Radhi slammed Saudi authorities.

The move also comes after some media reports said that Shaykh al-Radhi was summoned for questioning.

Shaykh al-Radhi slammed the Saudi regime over the execution of Shaykh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, the war on Yemen as well as the Takfiri ideology which he stated is widespread in the Wahhabi kingdom.

Shaykh al-Nimr was a vocal supporter of the mass pro-democracy protests against Riyadh, which erupted in Eastern Province in 2011, where a Shi’a majority has long complained of marginalization.
