Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri:
Rasa – After years of struggle and suffering from oppression, Iran came out of the darkness with the victory of the Islamic Revolution and like Eid al-Fitr, February 11 is a day of thanksgiving," Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said, speaking at a 22 Bahman rally in Esfahan.

RNA – Speaking at a rally on Esfahan’s Imam Square marking the 22nd of Bahman (11th of February), which celebrates the 37th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri said the Iranian people have always stood alongside the late leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini.

The member of the Board of Experts added that the sacrifices made by the thousands of martyrs who gave their lives for the Islamic Revolution during the Sacred Defence Era (Iran-Iraq War) proves the Iranian peoples’ strong support for the current Islamic system of governance.

He said that February 11 is like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir for Iranians. The reason that February 11 is like Eid is because after years of struggle and suffering from oppression, Iran came out of the darkness with the victory of the Islamic Revolution and like Eid al-Fitr, February 11 is a day of thanksgiving.

Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri continued, saying 22 Bahman is like Eid al-Adha because through sacrificing thousands of martyrs and enduring threats and torture, the Iranian people gave their lives like thousands of Ishmael’s, the son of the Prophet Abraham who was taken to the altar to be sacrificed.

“On February 11, the youth must celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution like Eid al-Adha,” he said.

The Iranian cleric noted that Fwbruary 11 is another Eid al-Ghadir for Iranians because on this day, God bestowed the blessing of guardianship upon this nation and every year, it should be celebrated with all its due honour and glory.

He said the victory of the Islamic Revolution comes from the line of guardianship which was the result of Eid al-Ghadir. The mission of all the prophets and messengers was to take the nations out of darkness and guide them toward the light.
