RNA – During a meeting with a group of volunteers of the Iranian Red Crescent on Saturday, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani referring to the Holy Quran and the Ten-Day Dawn, said that with the support of its people, Iran witnessed the victory of Islamic Revolution. From the perspective of Islam, authoritarian regimes and monarchies are illegitimate and the people have a duty to confront and fight these regimes.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that Islam is in conflict with imperial powers, such as the United Kingdom and the Russian Empire, who seized large parts of Iranian territory by force and separated it from Iran by imposing unequal treaties in the 19th century. “In 1953, Mohammad-Reza Shah fled Iran for the first time, but the United States reinstalled him and until the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iran was dominated by the US,” he said.
His Eminence said that by following the teachings of Islam, the Revolution was able to destroy the power of the internal tyrants, adding that with the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the imperialistic countries, due to their arrogance and superiority complex, sought to prevent the spread of the Islamic Revolution and that is why they strengthened Saddam Hussein and allowed him to attack Iran. “God Almighty gave Imam Khomeini the power to stand up to all the superpowers of the world and the Iranian people and the country’s leadership were able to protect the Revolution,” he said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said the most important thing in life is government and explained that all the prophets fought against corrupt governments in order to bring good governance, saying: “By the grace of God, today in Iran, we have a good government and despite all the attempts by the enemies of the Revolution, they have failed to bring the Islamic government to its knees.”
In conclusion, he stated that today our system of governance is a competent system of guardianship, and noted: “Today, our main duty is to protect the system and we should participate in elections to strengthen the foundations of the Revolution and prepare for the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi.”
