Rasa – A senior Lebanese cleric criticized Saudi Arabia for interfering in Lebanon’s presidential election rejecting allegations on opposition of Hezbollah against the election.

RNA – In a speech delivered at a husayniyah the central Lebanese village of al-Ghubayri, Shaykh Na’im Qassem, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, refuted allegations against Hezbollah by its opponents over Lebanon’s presidential elections saying those who think Hezbollah is against elections is lying.

 

He said, “The issue which is now known to all is that a regional country, namely Saudi Arabia, is interfering in Lebanon’s presidential elections and the person who should be elected as the president.”

 

Shaykh Qassem added, “We do not see any justification for the failure for the Parliament to meet” and stressed that all political parties should be present for the meeting because that is in the interests of Lebanese nation.

 

The Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah also congratulated Lebanon, Syria, the Arab world and the world of Islam over breaking of the siege of Nubl and al-Zahra in Aleppo province and added that this act has proved to the world that Hezbollah’s entrance into Syria was a timely move.

 

He called the cooperation of Hezbollah and the Syrian Arab Army as a constructive move and said, “The decision prevented growth of Takfiri groups in the country before they could overflow into Lebanon and the whole region and commit more crimes in the region.”

 

The Lebanese cleric also hailed the Lebanese army over its important achievements against Takfiri groups in Arsal.”
