RNA – “In the current era, Muslims are aware of the importance of unity and rapprochement among Islamic denominations more than any other time,” Dr. Abdurrahman Mihálffy, a Hungarian Islamic scholar and the president of Dar al-Ifta in Europe said.
“They are much more aware of the necessity of countering the Zionist regime, which by nature is a common threat to both Muslims and Christians,” pointed out the cleric.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president of Dar al-Ifta referred to the International Islamic Unity Conference hosted annually by the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: “During this conference, not just Shi’as or Sunnis, but also other Muslims from different parts of Islamic world come together to share their ideas with each other.”
The cleric referred to the negative consequences of the ideology propagated by Takfiri groups, including ISIL and other similar groups, stressing, “We should come to an agreement so as to be able to take further steps to stand against such perils.”
According to Dr. Mihálffy, unity and rapprochement among religions and denominations is of great importance and that Muslims and Christians should come together and discuss and offer proposals and roadmaps to put an end to the current crises facing the world.
The translator of the Holy Quran into Hungarian stressed that if Muslims unite, then victory would be possible and quoted the Holy Quran, saying, “How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of God.”
