RNA – Speaking on the sidelines of the second international conference on the Takfiri phenomenon, the head of a Sunni seminary in North Khorasan province, Akhound Galdi Kamal, emphasized the necessity for conversation and unity among clerics and politicians.

Referring to the achievements made by the conference and its positive results, the cleric mentioned that he was sincerely hopeful that the objectives of the event can be advanced through cooperation among clerics.

“If clerics and political officials unite, they can show the true and divine face of Islam to the world and protect the world from the sedition and crises created by the arrogant powers,” Akhound Kamal added.

“Referring to the correct sources when introducing the divine religion of Islam should be taught to the youth,” Akhound Kamal stated while urging jurisprudents to demonstrate the correct path to the youth.

The international conference on “Takfiri Threats in Today’s World,” concluded on Thursday in Qom with the presence of a group of Shi’a and Sunni scholars from 25 foreign countries along with many Iranian scientific and cultural figures.

A number of senior scholars such as Grand Ayatollahs Naser Makarem-Shirazi and Ja’far Sobhani and the Supreme Leader’s chief-of-staff, Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpaygani and the head of the Strategic Centre of the Expediency Council, Ali-Akbar Velayati, along with several other leading clerics attended the meeting.

The final statement of the conference stated that Muslim world is currently experiencing a very difficult time and extremist and Takfiri groups are the root cause of carnage, violence, vandalism and it is among grave responsibilities of scholars to condemn and deal with such phenomena.
