RNA – Speaking to Iran’s Human Rights Council, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani, Iran’s Chief Justice, stressed on analyzing and explaining the theory and practice of human rights in the West as well as presenting the basics and principles of Islamic human rights to the West.

He called on the Human Rights Council to launch a series of meetings and discussions about concepts and theoretical foundations of human rights at various levels and explore the ideas and theories of Western scholars.

“Through discussions over human rights with other schools and cultures, we can better understand each other’s different cultures in regard to humankind and their rights.”

Ayatollah Amoli-Larijani said that by studying the record of oppressive colonial countries, we can understand that the footprints of oppression and crimes throughout the centuries originate from Western powers and in today’s world, we have seen much oppression and crimes committed against innocent people.

He pointing out that "British Prime Minister [David Cameron] has argued that Saudi Arabia has not violated human rights over its war on Yemen. If the bombing of innocent people and destroying the infrastructure of the country and its cultural and historical monuments is not a violation of human rights than what is considered a violation of human rights."

“If the creation of ISIL and the support of inhumane acts is not a violation of human rights than what is the definition of this concept by the claimants of human rights?” he added.
