RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri referred to Saudi Arabia’s execution of Shi’a cleric and anti-government activist, Shaykh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, stressing that the action is an insult and a tragedy for the Islamic world, adding that: “Shaykh al-Nimr is a suspect of speaking the truth, enjoining the good and forbidding the wrong without any armed movement.”
The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts stressed: “This popular movement reminds us of the day that Saddam [Hussein] martyred Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr and the people said these are last days of Saddam’s life. If the blood of the oppressed is shed unjustly, their blood and screams will haunt the oppressor and they will be given what they deserve by divine grace.”
He referred to the several countries which have severed diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Saudi Arabia, and emphasized that these acts will have no effect on the country. “Saudi Arabia’s severing of diplomatic relations with Iran was not a clever act, but rather a great strategic error. An even greater error is that such actions have been repeated by their allies,” he said.
Referring to the attack on the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad, he said that revolutionaries do not engage in such actions and that this act was not perpetrated by revolutionaries as revolutionaries don’t make excuses for others.
