RNA – Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani has issued a message of condemnation on the occasion of the martyrdom of the anti-Saudi activist and cleric, Ayatollah Shaykh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr.
The message is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
“Do not kill a soul [whose life] God has made inviolable, except with due cause, and whoever is killed wrongfully, We have certainly given his heir an authority” [Holy Quran 17:33]
With great regret and sorrow, we have learned that the bloodthirsty Saudi regime has once again showed its criminal nature and has martyred one of the innocent, oppressed and freedom-loving servants of God along with a number of others. This regime was desperate to drink the pure blood of the oppressed and freedom-loving and sought to follow in the custom and path of the great criminals of history.
The martyrdom of this freedom-loving and high-ranking scholar and cleric, Martyr al-Nimr (May the pleasure of God be upon him), has made the black [record] of this regime darker and the overt vice and evil in them has become more obvious.
“From God we come and to Him we shall return!” [Holy Quran 2:156]
God-willing, rulers of the House of Saud will realize that their end is coming soon and the blood of this martyred scholar that they unjustly shed will deprive them of sleep, awaken the Islamic world and pave the way for the fall of this regime. Of course, this brutal crime will be condemned by the freedom-lovers of the world and the international community and the oppressed cries of this great martyr will be heard throughout the world.
“And the wrongdoers will soon know at what goal they will end up” [26:22]
