RNA – Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani referred to this morning’s execution of Ayatollah Shaykh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, saying “unfortunately, despite the protests from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and other countries, today we received news that Shaykh al-Nimr was executed by Saudi Arabia."
Saudi Arabia has executed the prominent Shi’a cleric along with 47 others in defiance of international calls for his release, as well as that of other jailed political dissidents in the Wahhabi kingdom.
In condemnation of the crime, His Eminence stressed that the execution of the religious scholar was disrespectful and a mockery to all Muslims – both Sunni and Shi’as – and added that everyone must “come to the field.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that the Wahhabi ideology that Saudi Arabia follows is a superstitious religion. Saudi Arabia is subservient and obedient to the United States and to the Zionist regime and with their support, they have trained Takfiris, ISIL and Boko Haram terrorists in order to defame Islamic and depict it as a violent and disreputable religion despite the fact that the Prophet Muhammad came as a “mercy to all the worlds.”
He said that Sunni and Shi’a clerics from Islamic countries must react to Saudi Arabia’s “malicious” execution of Shaykh al-Nimr, saying: “Such incidents threaten the whole world and given the circumstances of the current era, we must resist and protect this execution and maintain our alertness and endurance and make decisions.”
