RNA - Addressing the closing ceremony of the 29th international Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Sheikh Bilal Saeed Shaban underlined the need for unity among Muslims to stand up against the conspiracies hatched by Israel and the US.
He further deplored the conflicts in part of the Muslim world and said those who kill their fellow Muslims cannot be considered followers of Islam, which is a religion of peace, justice and compassion.
Sheikh Shaban also described the Islamic Republic of Iran as the symbol and role model of Islamic and religious unity, noting that followers of different Islamic schools of thought as well as other faiths live peacefully together in the country and have together stood up against world powers.
The International Islamic Unity Conference was held in the Iranian capital of Tehran on December 27-29 with the participation of scholars and thinkers from over 70 countries.
They discussed ways to enhance Muslim unity as well as settlement of the current crises facing the Islamic world.
