RNA – In a meeting with Dr. Hayel Abdul-Hafidh Dawud, Jordan’s Minister of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi stressed the fact that there are two great perils that threaten the Muslim world, and stated: “The first peril is that posed by the Takfiri terrorists who are now threatening the entire world and all Muslim countries. Today, not only do the Takfiris massacre Muslims, but they also demolish the infrastructure of the Muslim countries in which they operate. All this death and destruction that is brought upon the Muslim countries is to the benefit of the enemies of Islam and they are extremely happy about these conditions.”
Stating that no country, even Saudi Arabia, which is the birthplace of Takfirism, is safe from the dangers posed by the Takfiri terrorists, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi continued: “The second danger to the entire Muslim world is posed by the Zionist regime, which is one of the oldest and fiercest enemies of Islam as well as Muslims.”
Referring to the crimes and atrocities of the Zionist regime in Palestine and the al-Aqsa mosque, His Eminence stated: “the issues and dangers that threaten the al-Aqsa mosque today are of great importance to the Muslim world and Muslim scholars.”
Stating that the threat of Takfirism cannot be eliminated merely by military force, His Eminence continued: “Takfirism originates from a distorted and deviated school of thought. It is the responsibility of the Muslim scholars to eradicate the roots of this kind of ideology. Ironically, the Saudis, who teach the Takfiri ideology in their own schools and through their textbooks, have now started a coalition comprising more than thirty countries to fight Takfiris!”
Stating that this is indicative of the fact that even the Saudis have grasped the gravity of the danger posed by the Takfiris, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi noted: “Today, the enemies of Islam have conspired to create schism amongst Muslims. To pursue this goal, they have plotted to create a fear of the Sunnis among Shi’as and a fear of the Shi’as among Sunnis.”
His Eminence, then, continued: “There are Sunni Muslims living everywhere in Iran and we live together with them peacefully. The same conditions can be seen in Afghanistan where Sunnis and Shi’as live together and run the government together.”
