RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large crowd of believers in Qom’s Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to “Insight Week,” which marks the end of the foreign-backed sedition which occurred after Iran’s 2009 presidential elections, saying that enemies sought to exploit existing problems and some domestic factors and set alight the flames of sedition but due to the Supreme Leader’s timely detection and insight, Iranians were able to marginalize and extinguish the fires of sedition in their country.
Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi stressed that with the upcoming parliamentary elections, the enemies are still lurking and hoping to influence Iranian affairs, adding that elections in Iran are held according to religious teachings with features such as openness, competitiveness, fairness and legality, “which is why the Iranian system is a true system of religious democracy.”
In another part of his sermon, the Friday prayer leader of Qom said that the 15 million-strong Shi’a community in Nigeria, is the largest Shi’a minority in Africa and this community has been growing for many years despite being under immense pressure and persecution by the Nigerian military and Boko Haram terrorists.
“Unfortunately, international organizations have been silent in the face of this evident oppression,” he said.
His Eminence added that after the recent massacre of Shi’as in Zaria and after the massive Arba’in rally, Wahhabis assume that they can suppress Shi’as through such actions. However, throughout history, Shi’as have struggled to bring their message of truth to the world with the same courage.
“We call on the Nigerian government to free Shaykh al-Zakzaky and to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice for their actions,” he stressed.
His Eminence also congratulated Christians on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, saying: “He was one of the great divine prophets and his birth was accompanied by miracles and when some Jews were planning to kill him, he was taken went to heaven by the command of God.“
