RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, a member of the Assembly of Experts, referred to the repeated warnings by the Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in regard to the enemies’ plans to infiltrate Iran.
“These plans are signs of the United States’ feelings of despair and its defeat by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
The Iranian politician and cleric said that after the US was strategically defeated in the Middle East, the Islamic Republic of Iran become the primary power in the region. The crippling sanctions and other policies imposed by the enemies on Iran did not work and were ineffective and thus, the only possible option for the US and other enemies is to introduce schemes to infiltrate the country, which is representative of their postcolonialist policies.
He said that there are three types of colonialism: old colonialism, neocolonialism and postcolonialism. “Old colonialism is that which existed prior to the 1960s and refers to the military occupation of a territory by a colonizing power,” he explained.
Ayatollah Ka’bi continued, saying that in neo-colonialism, the military occupation by colonial powers is transformed into rule by the former colonial power’s mercenaries in the region. This occurred in Islamic countries. However, postcolonialism is a type of colonialism which is imposed through the influence of a superpower. In this form of colonialism, the enemy seeks to capture the minds and hearts of the people of that territory through the implementation of soft war.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said that one of the strategies that the imperial powers use to combat independent, freed and anti-imperialist nations is through infiltration. He added that infiltration has many different types and that in regard to the issue of security and intelligence infiltration, the US and the other enemies have been defeated many times.
He said that the imperial powers have launched serious programs against sovereign states, including through cultural infiltration and the use of social networks and various other forms of infrastructure for the creation of soft operations. He said that in Iran, particularly in the post-Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) era, infiltration is not a myth but a real strategy used by the enemies. This strategy has been proven by the confessions made by captured spies.
Ayatollah Ka’bi pointed out that recently, such spies have confessed that the enemies spend a minimum of $200 million in their efforts against Iran’s Islamic system and this program is guided solely by US Secretary of State John Kerry. “A media network which was arrested has influenced some high-ranking Iranian politicians and this is the same plan that the enemies used during the post-2009 election sedition,” he added.
The representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts stated that another part of the West’s agenda is to spread false propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international media. An example of this is seen in their vilification and false accusations about Iran’s Basij militias and armed forces.
He said that Ayatollah Khamenei has issued a clear and explicit warning which is based on facts in regard to the West’s agenda and added that the country’s elite, senior military officers, intellectuals and various political factions should take the enemies’ threats seriously.
Ayatollah Ka’bi later said that fighting against imperialism and the Great Satan [US] is the firm policy of the Islamic Revolution Satan.
