RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large crowd of believers in Qom’s Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to this weeks’ massive Arbaeen pilgrimage to the Iraqi holy city of Karbala, saying this year more than 27 million pilgrims from all over the world made a pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn in complete safety.
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah explained that the lofty message of this pilgrimage, in which the lovers of Imam Husayn walk on foot to his shrine in Karbala, emphasises the great discourse of Imam Husayn – unity on the basis of religion and guardianship, honour, the unacceptance of humiliation in opposition to the arrogant powers and oppressors, freedom, perseverance and the importance of establishing the rule of the religion of God on earth.
He added that due to the power of Islam and Shi’ism, this massive pilgrimage took place with complete comfort and security and added this fact demonstrated that the Arbaeen pilgrimage is a milestone and a valuable asset to the Muslim world which we must take greater advantage of in order to the realize of the ideals of Islam.
“Hopefully, this movement lays the ground for the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi,” he prayed.
Referring to the two letters addressed to the youth of Europe and North America by Iran’s Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in the aftermath of the two terrorist attacks that occurred in France, Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi said that the first letter called on youth to learn about Islam from its original sources and in the second letter, the Leader emphasised the importance of gaining a correct understanding of the [Takfiri] doctrine and system that fosters the terrorism occurring throughout the world today.
Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi said that one of the focuses of the Ayatollah Khamenei’s letter was to attract the attention of Western youth to the obvious contradictions of the behaviour of Western governments in the fight against terrorism.
He said that in his letter to Western youth, Iran’s Supreme Leader seeks to raise awareness by raising the question of why is it that in the logic of the United States and the other Western powers, that if a terrorist incident occurs in the West, it is considered a tragic and painful event and they stress upon the need to confront the perpetrators in a serious manner but if similar events occur in Islamic countries, not only don’t the [superpowers] get upset, but they give all rights to the oppressive power to take the peoples’ rights in a brutal and atrocious manner.
The Iranian scholar said that this is the case in countries such as Palestine, where the people suffer blatant discrimination at the hands of Israel.
Qom’s Friday prayer leader said unless there are differences between the innocent people who were killed in the terrorist attacks in France and the completely innocent people who have been slaughtered in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon by terrorists, mercenaries and agents of West and the US, why doesn’t the US and the West have a conscience in regard to those events which occur in Muslim countries?
Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi stated that in his second letter, Ayatollah Khamenei warned Western youth of their governments’ oppressive behaviour against Muslims and called on them to lay the foundations for correct and honest cooperation with the Islamic world.
