RNA – Speaking at a conference marking Basij Week, Hujjat al-Islam Abolqasem Yaqoubi, the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in North Khorasan Province said that today, the goals and ideals of the Basij still remain strong, and added that the Basij are the main defenders and pioneers of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and have always defended the values of the Islamic Revolution.
Hujjat al-Islam Yaqoubi pointed to the danger posed by Iran’s enemies, especially the United States’ interference in the country, saying that these enemies and oppressors seek to change the religious and Islamic identity of the country and of the Iranian people.
He emphasized the need for greater vigilance and insight to deal with this interference, saying that Western countries intend to use the conditions of the post-JCPOA era to influence Iran’s Islamic government in various fields, including the social, economic and culture fields.
The renowned scholar also noted that it was on this basis that the Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Iran’s negotiations with the P5+1 and the JPCOA have their own place, but a relationship with the US remains prohibited despite the agreement.
Hujjat al-Islam Yaqoubi said that the US is a predatory wolf and Iran must not expect kindness and friendship from a wolf, adding that if people think that the US will change its nature and methods towards the Iranian people and the country’s Islamic system, they are wrong.
He noted that if today, the US brings up the case of Iran and calls for increased relations with the country, it is because they want to use the situation in the country to interfere in its affairs and stop its Islamic government and prevent its development and advancement in various fields.
In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei’s representative in North Khorasan province said that “simple-mindedness is great” if we think that the US, with the goals and policies that it has, will one day become a sympathetic friend of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic system of government in Iran.
