RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Zuhayr al-Ja’id, a Lebanese Sunni scholar and head of the Islamic Action Front, stressed that Lebanon is in the crosshairs of the Western superpowers, including the United States who seek to infiltrate the country’s political, cultural, economic and social arenas.
He added that Western culture is propagated through the media in order to change the face of the region on behalf of the Zionist regime. “American and other Western intelligence services are promoting sedition and turmoil in Lebanon. Espionage groups affiliated with the American embassy have been discovered who seek to do this,” he said.
His Eminence explained that the American ambassadors to Lebanon are spies of their government and seek to promote sedition in the small, yet religiously diverse Arab country. He added that some pro-American Lebanese politicians are helping to implement the US’ projects in their country, adding: “The US seeks tangible influence in Lebanon and the Arab and Muslim worlds to encourage an ‘American Spring’ among Muslims.”
Shaykh al-Ja’id said that with its influence in Islamic countries, the US was able to transform the Islamic Awakening into “hell,” as we have witnessed in Libya, Egypt and several other countries in the Middle East which have been experiencing severe instability due to Western interference in their revolutions, which have been stolen for the sake of Israel’s security needs and to secure the US’ evil agenda.
The Lebanese Sunni scholar warned of the consequences of the US’ influence in Lebanon, explaining that most of their plots have been implemented behind the scenes. One of the goals they have pursued in order to implement their agenda is through neo-colonialism, as the region is rich in oil which the US seeks to gain access to.
He said that the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] is a great bulwark against Lebanon’s enemies, adding that the enemies have tried to penetrate Lebanon by surrounding the Resistance and by applying pressure, but this pressure couldn’t prevent the Resistance from fulfilling their duties.
Shaykh al-Ja’id explained that the US has interfered in Lebanese politics and expressed regret that the March 14 Alliance is working with the US to implement their agenda in the country,
He emphasized that the spread of the culture of resistance and its distribution among the universities and various segments of the Lebanese people, adherence to the Resistance’s stance against the enemies and adherence to Islamic unity between Sunnis and Shi’ite are some of the ways we can resist the influence of the American agenda in Lebanon.
The Sunni scholar stated that pressure against the al-Mayadeen media satellite network is another one of the enemies’ plots, adding that al-Mayadeen has played a major role in defusing the propaganda of the American-Israel media in the country. “The enemies of the people do not like the sound of the truth,” he said.
