RNA – Hasan Rahimpour-Azghadi, a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution told Rasa News that political wisdom, insight and awareness of people’s beliefs play an important role in determining the fate of society.
He added that just as the literal meaning of fitnah (sedition) means “test,” sedition is a test for the Islamic Awakening and added that a wise reaction by a nation to the sedition imposed on it represents that nations’ unacceptance of domination and its awareness.
Explaining the difference between dictatorship and the concept of Wilayat al-Faqih al-Mutlaq (Absolute Guardianship of the Jurisprudent), he said it is possible to associate Guardianship of the Jurisprudent with dictatorship by a just jurisprudent, but in reality the definitions of Guardianship of the Jurisprudent and dictatorship are completely different.
He added that the most democratic country in the world is the Islamic Republic of Iran because it is ruled by a jurist leader under the system of Guardianship of the Jurisprudence.
“With its three legislative branches, the Islamic system in Iran is most democratic system of government in the world,” he explained.
Rahimpour-Azghadi also stressed that Iran is the most prominent country in the struggle against dictatorship in the world and that the country’s supreme leader must avoid and follow the laws of God and be a fully qualified jurist.
He added that for the Jurisprudent Leader, even a minor transgression is a negation of justice and voids his guardianship as the Assembly of Experts will remove him from his position. This is in contrast to the dictatorships in the world, which are ruled by corrupt and oppressive leaders who demand absolute submission from their people.
His Eminence noted that the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, said that those who oppose the Guardianship of the Jurisprudence have not understood Islam and have spoken out of ignorance.
Rahimpour-Azghadi stressed that those who want an Islamic form of government without Guardianship of the Jurisprudence want a government which is outwardly Islamic but where Islamic laws are not implemented.
“This is like the government of Saudi Arabia, whose flag says ‘there is no god but God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God,’ but are involved in grave crimes,” he said.
The Iranian scholar and theorist said that the slogans of democracy in many Western countries are coated by totalitarianism and dictatorialism as a trick to deceive the people, saying: “The Western concept of democracy in the present world is a bitter joke and just a form of dictatorship under the guise of civil appeal. Many nations have fallen victim to democracy.”
