Deputy Head of Culture and Research at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools:
Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam Golzadeh said that Imam al-Sajjad was a model of resistance against the Umayyad oppressors and enemies and stressed that the Imam’s discourse and behaviour are a perfect example for today’s generation and was the best approach to the arrogance of the oppressors in every condition.

RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Sadeq Golzadeh, the deputy head of culture and research at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools, offered his condolences on the martyrdom of the fourth Shi’a Imam, Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Sajjad, saying: “The strategic and enduring life and the guidance of ‘Imam Zayn al-Abidin’ have unique and distinctive features.”

 

He stated that one of the characteristics of Imam al-Sajjad in Karbala included crisis management, stressing that without the leadership and guidance of Imam al-Sajjad, the uprising and revolution of Imam al-Husayn would not have been passed on to future generations. “Because of his role, the Umayyad Dynasty pursued the Imam,” he said.

 

His Eminence referred to the historical lessons of Karbala and noted that the inhabitants of Madinah, Makkah and Kufah who did not support Imam al-Husayn against the oppression of the Umayyad’s and left him alone during the Battle of Karbala, suffered after two or three years due to the tyranny of the caliph Yazid.

 

Referring to the Battle of al-Harrah, Hujjat al-Islam Golzadeh explained that after reaching Madinah and sieging Makkah, the oppressive Umayyad Dynasty killed about 11,000 people were and committed many crimes and said: “Thus, those who refused to support Imam al-Husayn under the pretext of protecting their lives and property, were soon struck by Yazid’s oppression.”

 

Hujjat al-Islam Golzadeh said that Imam al-Sajjad maintained his patience and played a pivotal role in society despite all the difficulties he faced and was able to train about 200 students. During the height of the oppression against him, he conveyed Imam al-Husayn’s message of resistance and liberation to the people of Kufah and Syria.

 

His Eminence stated that Imam al-Sajjad’s “Treatise on Rights” explains the characteristics of the complete and comprehensive dimensions of rights in the system of nature. He added that the Imam’s “The Psalms of Islam” is the largest source of Shi’a supplications in regard to the noble moral traits and clarifies the path of to become a perfect human being.

 

The deputy head of culture and research at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools said the most distinctive characteristic of Imam al-Sajjad was his introduction of the proper manner of prayer into Islamic society. “In this way, he explained the man’s duties to God, the Ahlul-Bayt, his parents, his children, the warriors and to those who have defended Islam and freedom in different conditions,” the Iranian scholar said.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Golzadeh elucidated and defended Imam al-Sajjad’s efforts in regard to the duty of “enjoining the good and forbidding the wrong,” saying that through his examples of speech and behaviour, Imam al-Sajjad directed the duty of enjoining the good and forbidding the wrong and laid the ground for the implementation of religious duties.

 

He said that Imam al-Sajjad was a model of resistance against the Umayyad oppressors and enemies and stressed that the Imam’s discourse and behaviour are a perfect example for today’s generation and was the best approach to the arrogance of the oppressors in every condition.

 

His Eminence noted the current conditions facing the Islamic world, saying that the oppressed people of Yemen, Iraq, Syria and other Muslim countries can be victorious over oppression through the love of Imam al-Sajjad and by following his example.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Golzadeh said that love for the Ahlul-Bayt, the Prophet Muhammad, Islamic unity and brotherhood, religious approximation and peaceful coexistence, confrontation with tyrants, crisis management, and sincere worship are some of the characteristics of Imam al-Sajjad which we can model.
