RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Nasrollah Pezhmanfar, the member of Iran's parliament, referred to the Saudi Interior Ministry’s upholding of its death sentence on the prominent anti-Saudi regime activist and Shi’ite cleric, Ayatollah Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s record is very dark and that in recent years the House of Saud’s actions in Yemen and Mina have revealed that no rationality prevails among the House of Saud.

His Eminence said that the method of governance that the current king of Saudi Arabia, Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, has taken since coming to power in January 2015 has been the best method to seal the collapse of the House of Saud. He added that the death sentence on Ayatollah al-Nimr is one of the factors which will lead to the near collapse of the House of Saud.

“If they are wise, they will not go through with such a crime, but unfortunately, they are not people of intelligence,” he said.

The member of the parliamentary Cultural Commission emphasized that the Islamic world has been silent in regard to the catastrophe in Mina and did not take any action. The reason why Saudi Arabia is able to continue their actions every day is because of the silence of the Islamic world.

Hujjat al-Islam Pezhmanfar said that if the silence of the international community and especially the Muslim world continues, the Saudis will be more persistent in regard to their crimes.

Ayatollah al-Nimr was attacked and arrested in the Qatif region of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province in July 2012, and has been charged with undermining the kingdom’s security, making anti-government speeches, and defending political prisoners. He has denied the accusations.

In October 2014, a Saudi court sentenced Ayatollah al-Nimr to death, provoking huge condemnations and criticism in the Middle East and the world.
