RNA – "It is obvious that the United States and the Zionist regime seek to advance their sinister objectives to intensify religious strife in the Muslim world," Shaykh Maher Hammoud, the Secretary-General of the Lebanon’s Union of Scholars in Support of the Islamic Resistance said during his speech at a Muharram mourning ceremony in the Lebanese southern village of Abbasiyah.
“Muslims throughout the world must be vigilant over these plans and recognise the enemies during these solemn days,” he added.
His Eminence said that when the enemy sees the continuous victories of the Resistance Axis and the resistance fighters making valuable achievements every day, they realize that all their efforts to spread religious and ethnic divisions to weaken the Resistance Axis have failed.
Shaykh Hammoud stated that the futile efforts by the US and the Takfiri terrorist groups which they support throughout the Islamic world cannot destroy true Islam.
“With all the power the Islamic Resistance presently has, Palestine still stands and the al-Aqsa Mosque will also remain in possession of all the Muslims of the world,” he explained.
He said the attack by brave Palestinian youth who stabbed a heavily-armed Israeli soldier is grounded in the spirit of resistance and martyrdom that Muslims have only learned from Imam Husayn.
The Secretary-General of the Lebanon’s Union of Scholars added that the first intifada was fought with stones, and the second with kidnapping, and now the third intifada is being fought with knives – a new weapon devised by young people in Palestine to confront the enemy of their nation. He also stressed that such operations will ultimately lead to the inevitable demise of Israel.
Shaykh Hammoud noted that some wealthy Arab countries confront any positive action that is in the interest of the worldwide Islamic community. They have invested in Takfiri terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria and thank the US for its support of the so-called “revolution” in Syria.
His Eminence said that despite the billions of dollars of aid to Takfiri groups, their attempts to overthrow the Syrian government have failed. When Russia came to assist the Syrian government at its request, these regime’s raised their voices and said that it was an “occupation” and “intervention,” but never said anything about the American intervention!
“They stand against the Resistance Axis, dialogue and rapprochement between Islamic schools of thought and with the support of extremist networks, they ignite the fire of sedition and dissention between Sunnis and Shi’ites, which is a regret,” Shaykh Hammoud concluded.
