RNA – A delegation of officials and servants from Karbala’s Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn have met with Grand Ayatollah Muhammad-Sa’id al-Hakim on the eve of the solemn month of Muharram.
The Iraqi source of emulation praised the officials and servants for their commitment to the recommendations and guidelines issued by sources of emulation in regard to this period of mourning and told them that during the month of Muharram, they must be more committed to their religious standards and duties, particularly given that they are serving in one of the most sacred places in the world for Shi’ite Muslims.
His Eminence reminded the delegation that they are in the best position to serve the “Master of the Martyrs” [Imam Husayn] and they must present their services without providing any desired favour from God but they must know that the best course of action to assist Imam Husayn is to show their attachment and devotion to the Ahlul-Bayt and to act in regard to their principles and values and stand against the oppressors and tyrants.
Ayatollah al-Hakim then referred to the many martyrs who have been killed on the path of reviving the slogans and message of Imam Husayn over the past four decades and more recently, those killed in resistance to the Takfiri phenomenon, saying: “In my opinion, after the position of the scholars, who protect the religion, truth and religious standards, serving the Master of the Martyrs is the most honourable position.”
He called on the delegation to avoid any futile friction, conflict and competition during the mourning ceremonies of Muharram and to strive to showcase and mirror the lifestyle of the Ahlul-Bayt with their behaviour and to realize that the Ahlul-Bayt are pleased by our commitment to our religious duties.
He quoted Imam Ali, who said: “You cannot achieve our position but by through your piety, virtue, chastity and charity you can help us [Ahlul-Bayt].”
Ayatollah al-Hakim stressed: “Through [the message] of Imam Husayn and the revival of his slogans we can protect ourselves, our sanctities and country from the Takfiris.”
