RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Jamal Muhammad, a member of the Council of Palestinian Scholars in Lebanon, referred to the Israeli attempts to Judaize predominately Muslim East Jerusalem and said that the Israeli regime has divided the al-Aqsa Mosque between Jews and Muslims for the first time, and with the silence of the Muslim community, Israel will be able to gradually attain its goal to Judaize all of Jerusalem.
Shaykh Muhammad added that the increased violence and provocations over the al-Aqsa Mosque occurring over the last few weeks and the events occurring throughout Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip represent the beginning of a third intifada in Palestine.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, thirty Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and around 1,000 injured with live and rubber bullets in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip since October 1.
The Sunni scholar said that identity and existence of Jerusalem and Palestine is seriously threatened by the Zionists, thus all Palestinians inside and outside the country must increase their efforts to confront the Zionist enemy.
He pointed to the role of Islamic scholars in the defence of Palestine and said that unfortunately scholars, despite their religious responsibility to defend Palestine, have played a weak role in this regard.
Shaykh Muhammad stressed that Islamic scholars would rather issue unfounded fatwas which lead to the killing of other Muslims than unite with each other.
His Eminence described the current conditions in Jerusalem as “dangerous” and said the Zionist regime is trying to distract many Arabs from paying attention to the Palestinian cause.
The member of the Council of Palestinian Scholars in Lebanon said Islamic scholars should honour their vows to prohibit the issuance of false fatwas by other [so-called] Islamic scholars and introduce the [true] Islam of mercy and justice to the world. Islamic scholars make Muslims aware of the aggression, murder and plundering against Muslims.
Shaykh Muhammad emphasized that the existence of the Zionist regime’s flag in some Arab nations is unfortunate and added that Israeli regime seeks to occupy all the land between the Nile and Euphrates rivers and said that the Zionists.
He strongly criticized the opening of Israeli embassies in some Muslim countries, saying that this regime seeks to influence Islamic societies through their embassies and even seek to occupy the countries where their embassies exist.
